CottageClass (Techstars ’17) is reinventing childhood education by empowering exceptional teachers to start preK-12th grade microschools to fill specific unmet educational needs in their communities.A micro school is an in-person learning environment for children ages preK-12th grade. It can be a homeschool co-op, preschool, aftercare program, summer camp or private school! We have developed a robust two-sided marketplace and accompanying microservices to facilitate the CottageClass platform. The lead engineer will continue to architect, develop, monitor and maintain our technology. The CTO will also assist in growth hacking initiatives, data analysis initiatives, recruitment and management. This position will report directly to the CEO.

A strong full-stack developer with a passion to work in fast-paced environment and make a significant impact on childhood education. You can design and implement persistence layers, backends, middleware, and frontend clients. You are willing to learn new skills as necessary and thrive on challenges. You work well in teams and have the capacity to lead and inspire other developers.
You'll need to have:
2+ years professional full-stack development experience
An intermediate knowledge of Go
Strong software design skills
Understanding of working in NoSql databases like MongoDB
Understanding of Docker and Kuberentes
Understanding of UX and good user design
A zest and abundant curiosity for talking to users and iterating based on their feedback.
Understanding of how to build out Stripe Marketplace for customized payments and ensure PCI compliance.
A passion for education
Strong desire to work with a social impact company
We'd love to see:
4+ years professional full-stack development experience
An expert knowledge of Go
Experience leading and managing software teams
Data analytics skills (We wish to provide recommendations to teachers on what to offer based on geodemocraphics)
An experienced and creative growth hacker
