Would you like to join the Fourth Industrial Revolution?

We are looking for a microservices architect to continue developing and scaling our infrastructure at Synthace.

The Project

Named by the World Economic Forum as one of the world’s 30 Technology Pioneers 2016, Synthace is re-imagining how we work with biology, which is now exponentially improving our ability to engineer with biology. This is made possible through our high level language and operating system for labs, Antha, which is already impacting how scientists work with biology in pharma, agriculture, chemical production, and blue sky research, including major reference customers like Dow and Merck.

Antha accomplishes this by assisting in the design, simulation, execution, and interpretation of biological experiments. This digitisation of the ‘How’ empowers scientists to focus on ‘What’ they want to do, removing major barriers in the time, cost, and complexity associated with working with biological systems. This digital representation enables the unambiguous translation of work between different lab environments, something that has never existed in the field before, and is key to enable building atop prior knowledge and practice in biology.

Antha also ensures that structured data is produced from all experiments: the fundamental key to properly applying machine learning to biological data. The total impact is profound, and measured in orders of magnitude how more productive a scientist powered by Antha is vs a scientist without. Working in this problem rich environment takes a truly exceptional and interdisciplinary team of biologists, computer scientists, biochemical engineers, and statisticians who are working together to change what can be done using biology.

You’ll be working within a tight-knit, multidisciplinary development team on exciting projects with plenty of technical challenge to get your teeth into, you will:

  • Architect and maintain scalable and reliable systems
  • Build high-performance systems from federated microservices with a blend of custom and off-the-shelf components

Personally, you will be as meticulous in your attention to detail as you are uncompromising in your commitment to maintaining first class development practices.

Key requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ professional experience developing and deploying microservices architectures
  • Experience as a Golang developer
  • Must be highly versed in modern development practices
