StorageOS is recruiting smart, motivated software developers to help create our groundbreaking software-based storage solution. Our product can be deployed as a container into Docker, Kubernetes and Mesos environments to provide persistent storage for databases, shared workloads, and other containerized applications.
We are looking for experienced Go (Golang) developers with some background in distributed systems. Ideally you will be comfortable with modern application architectures, including messaging, key/value stores, security, and microservices. You should also be familiar with Linux as a development environment, understand concepts such as filesystems, devices, sockets and threads, and be able to troubleshoot basic issues.
It isn’t necessary to have a storage background, and it isn’t necessary to have worked in any particular industry. We care about what you’ve done and what you can do.
The control plane of StorageOS is written in Go and uses gRPC and NATS for messaging and etcd for consensus and distributed configuration storage. We value testing and short iterations.
Our systems are built with and run on Docker, so some experience of the use of containers will be greatly valued. Exposure to Kubernetes or any other Cloud-Native tools would also be beneficial. A desire to learn is a must.
We use a lot of Free and Open Source tools to build and run our product, and we want to make our own contributions to the community, both in terms of submissions to upstream projects and open-sourced projects of our own. If you are or have been active in the community, that will be considered a big advantage.
We’re a small and very focused team and there’s great scope to direct your career based on your interests and strengths. We’re based in Central London, and we’re especially keen to hear from those able to get to the office quickly or willing to relocate.
If you’re a self-starter and interested in making a real difference in a well-funded startup project that’s going places, this could be for you.
How to apply
Send CV and Github id to firstname.lastname@example.org. This is an on-site (Central London, UK) role only. You must already be able to work in the UK as we can't help with visas.
